image metadata format

Image metadata format

After discovering that Windows Photo Gallery (WPG) supports image tags, I tried viewing the metadata in some of the images I have created in Photoshop. The data didn't show up at all in WPG and only the camera data appeared in Windows Explorer. This is unfortunate because I have a LOT of images tagged with Adobe XMP metadata. Is there a way to get XMP/IPTC metadata to show up in WPG? Do I need to convert this data to another format? Is that even possible? Thanks for your help.

Farinata, as far as I can see, WPG only supports a subset of XMP. It seems to support the Keyword and Description fields, but nothing else. I think that you need to import your files into WPG and then wait for them to be indexed before the Tag information will appear.
